Reproducing a seamless 360 degree sound field with conventional speakers requires the use of multiple side and rear speakers because of their limited dispersion characteristic. MK's patented Tripolar loudspeakers combine the localised sound of a conventional rear speaker combined with the open, diffused sound of a dipolar speaker. The result is the most detailed surround sound experience possible with fewer loudspeakers and with none of the hot spots or gaps in the soundstage found with traditional rear speakers.
